Room With a View
If you're like me you've been to the Bahamas a lot of times and the enticement of the delicious conch fritters to be found on shore are not enough temptation get me off the ship. Experience the Bahamas in a new and refreshing way, lounging in the open air, adult-only solarium located at the bow of the ship.
The ship is docked in the Bahamas for a relatively short period of time, 7 a.m. until 2 p.m. We will be at sea four of the seven days, so use this opportunity to take advantage of a less than full solarium. While your fellow passengers are off exploring the Bahamas, pick your favorite spot. This outdoor room is perfect for lounging, reading, listening to music or sharing a poolside drink with friends.

Nassau, Bahamas
For most new cruisers, the Bahamas will be your very first port of call. Located approximately 178 miles off the coast of Miami, Nassau host pristine beaches, turquoise water and a rich history. If this is your first time to the Bahamas, you should head over to the Atlantis Resort Bahamas to check out their spectacular marine habitat and other sea worthy adventures. If you want to immerse yourself in the local culture, check out The Straw Market, located within walking distance of where the ship docks. Be ready to bargain for handmade items that make good gifts and souveniers; never pay the first price requested.
In the mood for authentic Bahamian Cuisine, look no further than The Fish Fry (Arawak Cay), where you can find reasonably priced meals of fresh fish enjoyed by the locals. Don't forget to sample the conch fritters!
The Pirates of Nassau Museum explores the Bahamas rich history of swash buckling pirates. You can walk through the belly of a pirate ship, the Revenge, as you hear "pirates" plan their next attack, smell the dampness of a dungeon, and even hear the final prayer of an ill-fated victim before he walks the gangplank.
Beaches in the Bahamas abound. A few noteworthy ones are Paradise Beach, Cabbage Beach and Cable Beach.
As we get closer to the sailing, Royal Caribbean will update all the excursions they have available for each port city.
We will continue to post facts and tips about various ports of calls and things to do while onboard as we count down to the sailing of Allure of the Seas in October. If you have any comments or questions or want more information, please post in the comments section.
